What is Perovial?

Perovial is an innovative injectable treatment for Peyronie’s disease, based on high-purity hyaluronic acid. It is the first injectable device to receive European Medicines Agency (EMA) approval with a specific indication for the acute, or active, phase of the condition.

Delivered through injections placed directly into the fibrous plaque on the tunica albuginea of the penis, Perovial works to soften this hardened scar tissue and support the repair of the surrounding tissue — helping to reduce curvature and relieve pain. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally throughout the body’s tissues and holds water exceptionally well, restoring elasticity and flexibility where it’s needed.

Three ways hyaluronic acid helps

How it works

Administered as a series of injections directly into the plaque, the hyaluronic acid in Perovial works in three complementary ways.

Antioxidant

Helps reduce inflammation and oxidative stress — two factors that can drive the progression of Peyronie’s disease.

Antifibrotic

Helps limit the excess collagen build-up behind plaque formation, supporting greater tissue flexibility.

Hydration

Draws in and retains water to keep tissue supple, helping to soften plaques and limit deformity.

Who it's for

Perovial is intended for men with Peyronie’s disease in its acute (active) phase, particularly those experiencing:

  • Increasing or worsening penile curvature
  • Pain during erections
  • Difficulty with sexual function affecting relationships
  • A preference for a non-surgical option, or who wish to act earl

Your treatment course

  1. Initial consultation
A specialist assessment confirms you are in the acute phase and that Perovial is suitable for you.
  2. Weekly injections
A course of 10 injections, given one week apart, placed directly into the plaque in clinic.
  3. Review and monitoring
Your clinician monitors curvature, pain and your overall response throughout the course.

The benefits of Perovial treatment

Why consider Perovial

3

Pain relief

Helps ease pain during erections and supports more comfortable sexual function.

4

Improved quality of life

Many men report better emotional and psychological wellbeing, as Peyronie’s can affect confidence and self-esteem.

Frequently asked questions

What is Peyronie's disease?

Peyronie’s disease is a condition where fibrous scar tissue, known as plaque, forms inside the penis. This can cause a noticeable curve, and sometimes pain or difficulty with erections.

How many sessions will I need?

The full course is 10 injections, given one week apart. Your specialist will confirm the plan that’s right for you at your initial consultation.

Is the treatment painful?

Each injection is placed directly into the plaque, and any discomfort is usually brief. Your clinician will explain exactly what to expect and how to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

Is Perovial right for me?

Perovial is designed for men in the acute, active phase of Peyronie’s disease. An initial consultation with our specialist will confirm whether it is a suitable option for your individual circumstances.

Is it an alternative to surgery?

Yes. Perovial is a minimally invasive option that may help some men avoid or delay surgery, particularly when treatment begins early in the active phase.
